Specialist recruitment to recruitment
for the entrepreneurially minded

Opportunities

Most of our requirements do not come to market in a visible, traditional way.

Experience tells us that rather than run with a list of passive vacancies carried by a raft of other recruiters, we prefer to make timely approaches bringing talented individuals to the attention of trusted clients where chemistry suggests.

That said, for a feel for our recruitment network, the following are opportunities for the taking.

Currently

Consultant - Compliance

£30K base - OTE £75K plus

This proposition would suit an emerging compliance recruiter or a consultant with a professional services background looking to make a move into compliance.

As a niche consultancy established 11 years ago, our client has two core products: search and contingency recruitment and professional development training. This differentiates it from its competitors. They are now a leading specialist on both counts within the corporate governance and internal audit sector.

As both owners of the company are ex-industry professionals, a great deal of in-house knowledge and contacts circulate within, from which to develop business and leverage candidates. Clearly the training business adds intellectual capital to the brand on a daily basis.

We are looking for someone to develop their compliance desk. Key aspects to consider include:

•The business communicates with around 7,000 compliance officers, risk managers and internal auditors via a daily newsletter
•As a result, the database contains over 3,000 compliance officers
•PSL arrangements are in place (through internal audit) with many of the world’s largest financial institutions
•One of the owners is a major contributor to compliance debate and a regular speaker on the new banking regulation circuit

This is an opportunity to be a key player benefiting from the rewards that come with being a founder member of this initiative. A great deal of autonomy is on offer within a grown up, intelligent environment.

The business has a strong profit history and is cash rich. It operates ethically and professionally in "hot" sectors which will continue to grow on the back of regulatory change.

If you want to immerse yourself in a specialist environment under the helm of a very experienced player, this is a good option.

Consultant - Talent Management / Business Transformation

£45K base - OTE £100K via a bonus scheme attached to project outcomes

An unusual proposition: shift out of the traditional recruitment agency/search model into consultancy with a recruitment bias that weaves talent management and business transformation.

There are no easy words to explain the position - both the role and, somewhat confusingly, the company's precise yet fluid approach will be unfamiliar to most.

Global, owned by its founders, world class, belief-based and lucrative - this is a thoroughbred business.

As a consultant you will take responsibility for winning and growing a portfolio of local and international clients by working in collaboration with your specialist colleagues, half of whom derive from a management consultancy background. On a daily basis you will run (and be drawn into) a number of projects led by your unique business insight and potential, be it within a particular market sector, exposure to the rigorous testing of senior candidates, talent management know-how etc.

The role will appeal to those whose interest in traditional recruitment/search has grown stale. Perhaps you are an established account manager no longer facing incisive challenge or a consultant stymied by resourcing headaches or team management issues. In this role you will be supported by a highly skilled team dealing exclusively with candidate generation leaving you free to innovate and consult.

You must have heart, push back and a wish to hone perhaps under-used skills. You must want to let go of what you know to learn again. You must be willing to return to asking a client WHY client rather than just WHAT and HOW.

Of key importance is your ability to work in a fluid, collaborative environment. You must be able to challenge colleagues yet be generous with your time/knowledge when developing solutions. Rigidity, an inability to let go of fixed ideas and a wish to work singularly have no place in this company.

The best candidates will have:
•6-10 years within high value recruitment, consultancy or professional services management
•An ability to sell retained search services and/or work towards client exclusivity
•Courage and strong personal drive
•Great interpersonal and problem solving skills
•An understanding of business priorities and strategies
